Student Ranking Guide for Administrators
This guide will walk you through setting up your students' class rankings, in order to help determine things like which student is Valedictorian or Salutatorian.
Step 1: Choose Your Ranking Method
Before calculating the rankings, you need to decide which method your school will use. Go to Setup>Academics>Grade Settings>Class Rankings. You have four options to choose from:
- By Percentage Grade
- By UGPA
- By WGPA
- No ranking
Once you select your ranking method, save your settings.

Step 2: Calculate Rankings
Once all of the student's grade have been entered and you are ready to generate transcripts or to identify top rankings, you'll need to run the calculations.
NOTE: This process may take a few minutes, depending on the size of your school.
To calculate rankings:
- Go to Reports>Transcripts>Transcripts Ranking
- Click Calculate Rankings.
- Stay on this page until the rankings are complete.
- You will see a blue counter in the bottom right of your screen. When the ranking calculations are completed, this blue counter will turn green to indicate it is now complete and you can go to another page.
- If you leave the page before the counter turns green, the calculations will not be completed.

Step 3: Print or Review Transcripts
After calculations are finished, you can review your transcripts to see the ranking and print them, if needed.
IMPORTANT: Rankings Remain Static Until Recalculated
If you enter any new grades after the initial calculations, you will need to recalculate them to update the rankings to reflect those changes. To Reclalculate, simply repeat step 2, and this will generate new rankings data.
