Use Your Lesson Plans From Previous Years

As a teacher or administrator, you can see, search and copy your previous year's lesson plans into your lesson plans for the new year. The following steps (Separate guides for Teachers and for Administrators are below) will help you understand the fastest way to do this and should answer any questions you may have. If not, we are always available at: [email protected]

As a Teacher:

  1. Log into your MySchoolWorx Teacher account
  2. Click on the "Lesson Plan" icon
  3. Click the blue "Import" button in the center of the header bar Note: You will see the past year's plans open with columns that include action buttons, the original date each lesson plan was created, the class in which it was created and the first category in your school's lesson plan settings.
  4. Select the previous academic year you would like to search.

  5. Search for the plan which you would like to copy to the new year
    1. The Class drop down menu will show you the classes you had during the previous academic school year
    2. The search box allows you to search for key words in the last column (the first category in your school's lesson plans settings)
  6. If you want to preview the entire lesson plan, click the "eye" icon in the left Action column and a pop-up will appear showing all text in the selected lesson plan.
  7. Once you find the lesson plan you wish to copy, click the calendar icon
Note: If the class containing the lesson plan you are copying is also active in the new year, you will see the class already selected in the drop down menu in the calendar. If the class does not have a match in the new year, you will need to select the class to which you want the lesson plan to copy.

Another Note: If you are teaching the same class in the new year that you taught the previous year, you will see that class listed by default in the calendar drop down class menu. The selected lesson plan will only copy to that same class. If you select a different class from the drop down menu, it will not copy.
  8. Once a class shows in the calendar drop down menu and you click a date, the entire lesson plan and all attachments will be copied.
  9. After the lesson plan has been copied, you can drag and drop and edit the live lesson plan as you desire.

As an Administrator

  1. Log into your MySchoolWorx Administrator account.
  2. Hover over the Users icon
  3. Click "Teacher"
  4. Beside the teacher for which you wish to view lesson plans, click on the text in the "Submitted Lesson Plans" column

  5. Click the blue "Import" button in the center of the header bar
    Note:

You will see the past year's plans open with columns that include action buttons, the original date each lesson plan was created, the class in which it was created and the first category in your school's lesson plan settings.

  6. Search for the plan which you would like to copy to the new year
    1. The Class drop down menu will show you the classes you had during the previous academic school year
    2. The search box allows you to search for key words in the last column (the first category in your school's lesson plans settings)
  7. If you want to preview the entire lesson plan, click the "eye" icon in the left Action column and a pop-up will appear showing all text in the  selected lesson plan

And one last note: If you copy a past lesson plan to a specific class and date in the new year and then try to copy another lesson plan over top of the first one, it will not copy. By clicking the trash can icon, you can delete the first plan to free up the class and date to receive another copied lesson plan.
  9. Once a class shows in the calendar drop down menu and you click a date, the entire lesson plan will be transferred.
  10. After the lesson plan has been copied, you can drag and drop and edit the live lesson plan as you desire.
