Administrator Review for Discipline Events

MySchoolWorx is happy to provide the ability for Administrators to review discipline events created by any Teacher or Administrator before the discipline goes out to a parent in MySchoolWorx or as an Alert. 

Once the Administrator Review option is turned on, Administrators have the ability to select, from the set up page, the discipline categories they want to review before parents can see them or be alerted of them. For example, you may not want to review discipline events that are created when the "Chewing Gum" category is selected, but you may want to review all discipline events that are created using the "Fighting" category. If "Fighting" is selected when a discipline event is created then the Status of "Pending" is automatically entered and the discipline event is "on hold" until one of the Administrators for your account opens that event and changes the Status to either Open or Closed. Once the status is changed and saved, the discipline event is live for parents to see and for parents to receive an Alert for that one discipline event. 
Note: A school would set up it's own internal policy as to who is authorized to edit these Pending discipline events. There is currently not a control setting in MySchoolWorx to determine which Administrator is authorized to edit Pending discipline events.

If an Administrator goes back in and changes a discipline event to Pending from Open or Closed, the discipline event is pulled back from the parents view from their discipline icon, if you have enabled this for parents. However, a discipline event cannot be pulled back from an Alert that has been sent out to parents.

How to set up administrator review for discipline events:

  1. Log in to MySchoolWorx
  2. Click your name in the top right corner
  3. Click Set Up
  4. Click Discipline on the lower left side
  5. Check the "Admin Review" box
  6. Save changes

How to determine which discipline categories require Administrator review:

  1. Log in to MySchoolWorx
  2. Click your name in the top right corner
  3. Click Set Up
  4. Click Discipline on the lower left side
  5. Either click the pencil to the right of an existing category or click the "Add New Category" button to the right.
  6. Enter or confirm the category name
  7. If you want a discipline category to be reviewed before going live, check the "Admin Review" box
    Note: Once saved, each category that requires Administrator review will show a "1" in the Admin Review column and those not requiring review will show a "0."
  8. Save changes
